Fault Detection and Location of Power Transmission lines Using Intelligent Distance Relay

Abstract


In this paper, a three-stage distance relay is planned utilizing an Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System algorithm  “ANFIS”. The proposed relay station is utilized to secure the power transmission lines where they are exposed to deficiencies ceaselessly. These issues may deliver a high electric flow which prompts high annihilation of electrical hardware in the power framework. The utilization of the relay station  is to ascertain the transmission line deficiencies through the approximation of the current signs for individual phase. The resistance to the line is next ascertained in order to discern the error and  release an immediate trip signal to the electrical switch circuit breaker  in order to seclude the blame from the transmission line without affecting assembly by different transfers.

To isolate the defective line without affecting different lines inside the system, the transfers were prepared utilizing versatile adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system  ANFIS. The acquired outcomes through this work demonstrate that the assigned relay station with ANFIS calculation can identify the event of deficiencies and recognize it from the instances of the disturbance, and separate the fault zone without affecting other relays within the system.
