Rocio Alba-Flores received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from the Polytechnic Institute, Mexico City, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Tulane University, LA, USA, in 1997 and 1999, respectively. She is currently an Associate Professor with the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, Georgia Southern University, Statesboro, GA, USA. She has 20 years of professional experience in research at higher education institutions. She is one of the founders of the Robotics and Intelligent Operation Systems (RIOS) Laboratory, where she and her students perform research using state-of-the-art equipment. She has over 50 peer-reviewed publications and is the primary author of five laboratory manuals. She has advised over 30 undergraduate research projects and directed eight Masters of Science theses. Her research interests include intelligent control systems, mobile robot navigation, and signal and image processing.
